Digital stickers are my favorite component of digital planning, bullet journaling, note-taking, studying, and more.
In this blog post, I will teach you everything you need to know — what are digital stickers, why use them, where you can find them, and how to use them.
What are Digital Stickers?
They are PNG image files you can insert into your digital files. They are just like physical stickers in the aspect that you can stick them anywhere, but digital.
They often come as sticker books, sticker sheets, or as individual PNG files.
Why use them?
With physical stickers, you buy a sheet, use them once, and that’s it.
Plus, if you make a mistake, it’s extremely difficult to remove the sticker and to replace it somewhere else.
However, with digital stickers, you can reuse them as many times as you want.
If you misplace your stickers, you can easily move it without tearing any paper.
They are a bang for your buck because they can be used forever infinitely.
Digital Stickers Application
You can use digital stickers in just about anywhere. You can use it in your digital planners, bullet journal, flashcards, notes, and more.
Here are some examples of them being used:
In Digital Notes
I love using digital sticky notes in my school notes.
Rather than reading through similar and monotonous writing, digital stickers helps me differentiate and pick out important concepts. It also makes studying from my notes a lot easier.
While using stickers in your digital notes can be practical, it can also make your notes look a lot cuter too. For me, creating cute notes keeps me engaged in an otherwise boring task.
Digital Planner & Bullet Journal
I love using stickers in my digital planner. Seriously, it’s my livelihood.
Whether you’re using a digital planner or bullet journal, digital stickers will enhance both your planner/journal and your digital planning experience.
Digital stickers is my favorite way of personalizing my digital planner. It makes your digital planner unique and personalized.
Where to Find Stickers
You can find stickers on Etsy and planning blogs.
If you’re looking for free stickers to use in your digital planner, I have a few sets you can download on the VIP Resource Library.
In order to get access, join the VIP Community for free and you will get the password emailed to you.
How to use Digital Stickers
Using digital stickers is a lot easier than you would think.
If you’re downloading stickers off the VIP Library, select the sticker set you want to download.
Save the image onto your iPad or transfer the image file to your iPad if you downloaded it on your computer.
Import the image in whatever digital planning application you’re using. I personally use goodnotes. If you want to read about my digital planning application analysis, check out my blog post, “What digital planning application should I use?”
Digital stickers might come in one of three ways:
- PNG Sheet
If you download stickers, there’s a chance it’ll come as a transparent PNG sticker sheet.
A PNG sticker sheet has all the sticker designs in one larger PNG image file.
In order to extra the sticker you want from the PNG Sticker sheet in GoodNotes:
- Drop the image into your planner/notes/journal
- Select the image and tap on crop
- Use either the rectangle crop or freestyle crop to select the sticker you want to use!
Super simple and easy.
- Individual PNG Files
Digital stickers could also come in the form of individual PNG files.
What this means is that each sticker is its own individual PNG file.
This makes them easy to use.
To use them in your planner or notes, simply drop the image in your planner/note file. From there, you should be able to resize and/or rotate it however you wish!
Pro-tip: Organize your stickers by putting it in an empty stickerbook/stickersheet or creating a designated folder for your individual PNG stickers on your iPad.
- GoodNotes Stickerbook
If you purchase stickers from a digital planning shop, a stickerbook/sheet might be included.
The perk about using a sticker book is that all the stickers are pre-cropped in one place, ready for you to use.
To use your GoodNotes Stickerbook:
- Transfer or download the GoodNotes file onto your iPad.
- Open the file in GoodNotes
- Use the marquee tool to select the sticker you want to use.
- Copy and paste into whatever file you want to use the sticker in!
Note that you can only use the GoodNote stickerbook in goodnotes!

Check out my shop for cute, high-quality stickers. All of my stickers come with a pre-cropped GoodNotes Sticker book or sheet, which makes it easy to copy and paste.
Definitely take advantage of using stickers in your iPad planners, notes, etc.! You can use time as many times as you want, write or draw on them, resize and rotate, and so much more that you can’t do to paper stickers.
Remember to join the VIP Community if you want access to stickers and other iPad planning & studying goodies. The Library is always being tended to and as a VIP member, you will be the first to know about any updates.
Can you only use stickers in an ipad?
I have a laptop.
I really appreciate the clarification about stickers, but devices?
Hi Deborah,
If you have GoodNotes or a planning application on your laptop, then you can most certainly use digital stickers! I know you can use stickers in OneNote, Xodo, GoodNotes, and any other laptop planning applications. You can add the image file of the sticker (PNG) in the application with your planner and adjust it however you wish on there 🙂 If you have any other questions, feel free to ask them! I can make a comprehensive blog post about digital planning with your laptop if you wish 🙂
please do, I use one note and I cant select individual sticker from my png. sticker sheet
I love this, digital stickers definitely make things a lot more fun and interesting!
