After implementing and trying it out, I was able to use the money to pay off my bills AND invest in myself and change my life.

1. Sell old clothes and other stuff you don’t use
Do you have a closet full of clothes you don’t wear? Or a house full of stuff you don’t even use?
I never noticed how cluttered my environment was.
After taking a look into my closet, I realized that I had so much clothing that I didn’t wear anymore. I also had a bunch of random stuff that I spent a lot of money on but never ended up using.
If you take an honest look around your home, I’m sure you’ll find some stuff you no longer need.
To help declutter, clean my space, and make some extra cash, I put my clothes and other items I no longer needed. The apps I used are:
- Decluttr (great for selling electronics, DVDs, video games, etc.)
- Poshmark for selling old clothes
- Depop for selling old clothes
- Facebook Marketplace to sell clothes, electronics, furniture, applicants, and much more
What I didn’t expect was to make thousands of dollars from just listing and selling things I no longer needed.
If you’re a hoarder and are ready to make extra cash and finally clean your space, then this is such an easy way to make money AND be productive at the same time.
2. Sell your services!
Are you into photography? Painting? Are you a talented woodworker or computer builder?
If you’re skilled in a field that others aren’t, then you have something you can capitalize on.
When I was in college, I was able to make some extra side income from doing casual design jobs and photography work.
And to be completely honest, I wasn’t particularly skilled in either. I just knew more about both than the average person.
To figure out what people need help with, you can search around on Facebook groups/communities or check Craigslist to see what services people are requesting.
3. Open an Etsy shop
Another great way to make some extra income is to start an Etsy shop.
The startup costs of opening an Etsy shop is extremely low. Each listing only costs $.20.
If you’re into creating crafts, design, art, photography, and more, then this is the perfect avenue for side or even passive income.

4. Shop online for extra income
Do you ever wish you can make money while spending it?
Well, you actually can. 😳
You can literally get paid to shop online by downloading a cashback app onto your phone.
When you use a cashback app, you get a percentage of what you spend at eligible shops and services.
If you’re shopping, especially for things you already need, why not get money back on it? I mean, what sane person would say no?
Here are the cashback apps I personally use:
Earn cash back by using the Rakuten app. There are so many stores you can shop at and earn money back with Rakuten.
It’s so easy to use — Head over to Rakuten and see the different stores you can shop to earn money back.
Ibotta is an amazing app if you’re looking to earn cash back on groceries.
Whether you grocery shop in person, pickup, or online, Ibotta will accommodate!

5. Start a blog about a topic you’re knowledgable in
Starting my blog has helped me generate side income like I never imagined.
When I started to blog about bullet journaling and digital planning, I got a lot of traffic and interest that helped me generate hundreds of dollars of extra income each month.
With the side income my blog generated me, I am able to:
- Comfortably pay my bills
- Invest in myself and courses I want to take
- Be more financially free
- Travel more often
- Eat out without worrying
And much more.
Yes, it is a lot of work, but this is the type of income that YOU can grow and control.
You are in control of your own destiny when it comes to blogging!
