“If you don’t have a clear vision on what you want, then you will not have clear results.”
The most successful people use visualization as a tool to help achieve their goals.
Olympians, professional athletes, chess players, and other acclaimed individuals use visualize regularly and as a result, they are able to achieve the results they create in their minds.
You can visualize performing a speech, working out, playing chess, and practicing whatever you need to do to get closer to your goals. This is all in your mind!
If you want to build a life you actually love, then you will need a clear vision on that.
And that’s what vision boards are for; they help you create a clearer vision of your dream life.
In this blog post, I’ll be talking about how you can easily create a digital vision board that will help motivate you and help you get to your dream life.
What’s a vision board and what’s the purpose of it?
A vision board is a collage of images and words representing your goals, higher self, and ideal life.
The things that go on your vision board are things that inspire, motivate, and embody what you want to feel.
Vision boards help you get that crystal clear focus of what you want your life to actually be and feel like.
As I quoted before, you won’t get clear results if you don’t have a clear vision.
Your vision board will help you visualize your goals and your dream life, and through that, you’ll be able to incorporate elements of your dream life into your life today.
Benefits of a Vision Board
Many of my successful peers have vision boards themselves. And there’s a reason for it – they actually work.
Here are some of my favorite benefits to having a vision board. My friends can attest to theses as well 🙂
- A vision board gives you crystal clarity on what you want and why
I remember feeling extremely lost in life. Although I didn’t know what I wanted to do, I knew that I didn’t like what I was doing back then.
However, when I put together my first vision board, coupled with my reflective journaling practice, I was able find more clarity and insight about the life I want to live.
- Optimize my daily performance
My vision board helps me visualize what it’s like to be my highest self.
When I’m struggling, I look at my vision board and start to visualize: I think about the choices I’d make, how I would face adversity, and what would my highest self do if she was in my situation now.
Knowing that, I can incorporate the things my highest self would do in my life now and see major benefits and immediate results.
- Visual reminder and motivator on what you’re working towards
When you’re working towards your goal, feeling unmotivated and down is inevitable. There are highs and lows to every journey.
When I feel down and want to give up, looking at my vision board reminds me why I’m working so hard and encourages me to keep going with my dream.
Now that I explained all that, let’s get into how you can create a digital vision board!
Creating your own vision board
Now to the fun part – creating your very own digital vision board.
You can also create a traditional vision board by printing images out/finding magazine images and putting it on a poster board, but I personally prefer using a digital vision board for a few reasons:
Digital visions boards are
- Easier to make with less hassle and mess
- You can print it out if you want a physical copy of it
- Flexible: you can easily make changes to your vision board whenever
- You can use your digital vision board as your phone, laptop, or iPad lock screen for inspiration and motivation
If you’re ready, let me walk you step by step on how you can create your own digital vision board.
There are different applications and websites you can use to create your own digital vision board, such as Canva, Picmonkey, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc. You can even create a digital vision board in your digital planner!
However, in this blog post, I’ll be showing you how you can create a digital vision board easily with a free website called Moodzer.
Moodzer is a free collage maker that puts together beautiful grid collages and is perfect for creating a digital vision board.
The process is super easy! Trust me, you don’t have to be a technology wiz at all! All you need is a computer and some inspiration.
1. Find images for your vision board
This is my favorite step! You can look on Pinterest, google, Unsplash, Pexels, or whatever social media you use for inspiring images.
Find images that inspire and motivate you. You can even use words and adjectives. There are no rules.
Pro-tip: Find images that evoke the feelings you want to feel as your highest self.
2. Save all your images in one folder
Save all your images in one folder. This will make the uploading process a lot easier.
3. Create a Board
Once you made an account or logged in, you should see a create board button. Click on that to get started.
4. Upload all the images from your folder onto the board
Select all your images from the folder and upload them right into your board. If you want to add more images, you can easily add an image by clicking on the add image icon on the top right corner.
You can also adjust the gutter space (space between each picture) by clicking on the settings icon on the top right corner.
5. Export your image
Voila! You are now done with your very own vision board.
How to get the most out of your digital vision board
Now that you have your vision board, it’s time to put it to use.
Here are some ideas on how you can get the most out of your vision board.
- Use it as your laptop, iPad, or phone wallpaper
- Print our your vision board and put it in a place you see everyday, such as your journal, your room, your kitchen, fridge, etc.
- Spend a few minutes each day looking at your vision board. Use it as an aid to visualize your highest self and your dream life.
